Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. She has a mother who is English and her father Nigerian. Her family was in the South London Council Estate and went to The Brit School aged 14. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In her time at the school, she performed in numerous stage plays, like King Henry V's princess Katherine or Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe launched her acting career with the movie Storm Damage. She has since made appearances in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe scored her first motion picture in the 2007 Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Then, she was the lead in Elisha, an episode of the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In addition, she appeared as Ollie in six episodes each of Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. She was Bambi on the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was the main character in How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others. The comedy that was released in 2008. Her stage credits include Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams and Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe made her debut in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama show ran at The CW for only two episodes, before it was cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character on ABC's Revenge drama series, was cast to play Ashley Davenport. The departure of Madekwe from the show was officially announced in May of 2013. Following two seasons as the main character she made a guest performance in the first episode of season three. The actress played Tituba in the TV series Salem between 2014 and. Then, in June of 2012 she got married to her long-time partner, actor Iddo Goldberg. Both of them have been in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also played as partners in Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario and was a part of a large family. Her family included both parents Roy and Patty along with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. The brothers of Ashley were extremely athletic and played baseball and hockey during the winter and summer months. They grew up playing stadiums and played baseball. Ashley did not have the ability to walk, but she danced. When she turned two-and-a-half she took up Baby Ballet and fell in love. It was then that she discovered Ashley's love for dancing. Until she graduated from the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in tap, jazz, ballet and pointe as well as acrobatics, lyrical, musical theatre and hip hop. She was crowned the top soloist at each of the most prestigious dance competitions like, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
