Tom Selleck
Thomas William Selleck is an American actor. His most famous role was Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in the television series Magnum, P.I. He was nominated for five Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor In the Drama Series (1980-1988) in the 1980-88 season, and received the Emmy Award in 1985. Since 2010 Selleck has been co-starring as New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. In 2005 the actor has played the troubled police chief of a small town Jesse Stone in nine television films that were based on the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). Since Magnum, P.I., he has appeared in over 50 roles on television and film, including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He was the recurring television character of Monica Geller's love lovers Dr. Richard Burke and Lance White on Friends. Additionally he played A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also had a lead role in the television western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran, a spokesman for the National Rifle Association (NRA) and an endorser for advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
